Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958, in extremely poor conditions. Her mother, a failed schoolteacher and actor, made a living selling cars while her dad was an auto salesman. Jennifer was the second child in the family of four frequently attended her mother's performance in the theater and extremely impressed. Jennifer's mother and father separated at age five. Jennifer was a part of her life living in British Columbia, after her mother moved there with her four kids. Jennifer wasn't a student, though as a youngster she was very artistic. The time she spent in Canadian schools caused her to be often the target of bullying. Theater was her first passion, but it began to wane throughout her high school years, and as a result, she actively participated in shows as an extra with help from her mother. The mother of her children encouraged the entire family to get involved in art. After that, she immediately began taking action.
